Generational Diversity Mamta Verma Generational diversity refers to the coexistence of different age groups within a population, with each generation having distinct values, beliefs, and experiences. When multiple generations live together, it can lead to a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives, but it can also result in conflicts and misunderstandings due to differences in values and lifestyles. It's important for people of different generations to work towards building bridges and finding common ground in order to create a harmonious community. In Asia, it is common for multiple generations to live together in one household, a joint family. This tradition stems from cultural values of interdependence, extended family support, and the belief that aging parents should be cared for by their children. "You can not enter the examination room," said the receptionist ." I was stunned when I heard the statement made by the lady at the reception of the examination hall. I was not ready to take her response, so I asked, What? My voice amplified as I re-stated my question. Instead of getting a response, the receptionist asked me to wait. While waiting, my heart sank, and I felt like my dreams were falling apart. As her words were filtering down, I inferred, I may miss this opportunity. However, I mustered the courage to face the adverse situation, now I asked hesitantly," why can't I take the test?" My passion for becoming a certified counselor in the USA was not new. Dyslexia is the most common reading disability, affecting five and 10 percent of the population. Even though Dyslexia is impacting the student population, it takes several years to ...

Affirmations Mamta Verma One day, I was waiting for the results of my final exams, I was very anxious. restless, and doubtful. I was trying to divert my thoughts, but my mind was focused on it. I was tossing and turning and could not sleep. My mother came to check on me. I told my mother that my mind does not get off my exam results. She said very calmly, ” Did you work hard? Do you believe in yourself? Why do you have self-doubt?” She advised me to believe in myself. And that moment, my restlessness and self-doubt disappeared. I was wondering why it happened? When you start believing in yourself, you do not need validation from others, except yourself. Affirmations are like self-talks to self. You give positive messages to yourself. The encouraging and motivational statements that are given by parents, grandparents, teachers, or by yourself are affirmations. Like my mother said,” Believe in Yourself”. It immediately relieved my stress about the exams. Similarly, when ...
